Health

VSO has ten programmes across Africa and Asia working to improve health services in and social wellbeing.
Our health volunteers come from a variety of professional backgrounds, including doctors, nurses, midwives, health managers and educators and therapists.
VSO is improving the quality and availability of healthcare services, by fighting the ill health caused by poverty and strengthening the skills and capabilities of health professionals in disadvantaged communities.
The roles our health volunteers do vary, your job may be teaching others how to better manage a care facility, or supporting the delivery of urgently needed care. You could also be promoting the voice of disadvantaged users when health and social services are being planned and delivered.
Roles are generally longer term, ranging from one to two years. You could be working in countries like Cambodia, Malawi or Sierra Leone. Volunteering with CUSO-VSO is a life changing experience, and you'll learn new professional and personal skills that will stay with you for life.
